Hey Guys! I’m Connor, I’m sure you all remember me after I basically demanded we name our group Connor & Friends. Haha. I am a sophomore communication studies major, but that is about my fourth major so who knows how long I will stick with it. With that being said, I have absolutely no idea what my plans are for life. I am the youngest of four children, my eldest sister is currently pregnant and I am super excited about becoming an aunt in December. You all will probably hear quite a bit about that so I feel obligated to give y’all a heads up. I don’t really have many hobbies..other than sleeping way too much. I played varsity golf in high school and was the team captain my senior year. However, I haven’t played a round of golf in about a year. I work at T.C. Elli’s on Broadway and I ABSOLUTELY love my job. I like to pretend like I am this awesome fashionista but sadly I am not. You will probably always see me in Nike shorts and a baggy t-shirt or any other form of workout attire. Do not let my active wear fool you into believing I work out because I don’t. Haha.

My name is Taylor Langdon, I am a junior here at Tech and I am on scholarship for the Texas Tech Rodeo program. My women's team won the 2012 National Championship; the first one in Tech history! I am majoring in Exercise Sport Science to eventually go into Radiology to be an ultra sound tech or x-ray tech, still deciding. I enjoy English I'm not a big book reader but i look forward to reading some interesting things in this class. I have been around horses all of my life and it is what my passion is, I have been a world champion barrel racer multiple times on the mare i rodeo for tech that i trained myself. I am trying to fit it into this being my last year at tech which shouldn't be hard i will just have to work hard. I look forward to working with all of you in Intro to Fiction this semester!

Joshua Monrreal

Hi guys my name is Josh Monrreal I'm 22 years old and a senior graduating in Dec, Im majoring in Economics with a Minor in Political Science. I love hockey its my biggest passion and i have played since i was 9, I played on the Tech Club Hockey team for the past 3 years but had to hang up the skates, I would not have any free time since I'm taking 22 hours. I am engaged with my high school sweetheart of 6 years and we are getting married on the ice rink where i first started to play so Im very excited for that. I love to read but only if its something i would be interested in. you can say Im a picky reader.I look forward to learning about you guys. See you in class

Magan Jade

My name is Magan Escamilla. I'm "the girl with the short hair." My major is agricultural communications. Most people ask what that is so I'll just tell you. With my degree, I will be able to do radio, tv, journalism, web design, graphic design, marketing or public relations for an agricultural market. I don't know if I want to any of that when I graduate, which I realize makes no sense. I want to teach high school agriculture for a few years after I graduate and got my degree in communications as a back up. I really enjoy everything I study but fell in love with FFA in high school and decided I wanted to run a program one day. I graduate in May and will do my teacher certification after. Is that weird? Yes. I will come back as an undergrad alumni but it means another football season and another year in Lubbock, which I consider home. I graduated from Kingwood High School. My class was 1,100 students and Reliant Stadium was the venue. My family has since moved to Madisonville, Louisiana. It's only 45 minutes from New Orleans across one of the longest bridges in the world called the Causeway. They were hit by hurricane Isaac but luckily, no damage was done to our home. I go to school full-time and work nearly full-time at Embassy Suites. Everyone I work with is awesome which makes standing on my feet for almost 9 hrs each shift a whole lot easier. I laugh at almost everything including myself but I might not at 9 am when you all are graced with my sleepy and absent minded presence. I like most things in life but mostly sushi, haircuts, coffee, salsa, music, and painting. Not in that order and not all at once. But mostly, I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you a little better.

I'm a sophomore Political Science major from here in Lubbock. I do a lot of little hobbies, because I like to have something to with my hands. My most current hobby is wood carving; I’ve only done a few so far, but I’m especially proud of the little wooden duck sitting on my computer desk. When I’m not studying or hanging out with friends I like to go mountain biking on some of the challenging trails on the east side of town. If any of you like to ride let me know and I can show you my favorite spots around town. I believe in making the most of every situation, and I will often go out of my way to turn even the most mundane tasks into an adventure. Some of the things I do may seem random or unnecessary, like a midnight game of Croquet or driving a few miles out of the way to get a more scenic view, but I do those things because they’re usually the most fun. I’m looking forward to a great semester, go team Connor and Friends!
